Urban Artists:
School Workshops

Our artists have been conducting workshops at School's around Australia. These workshops are fantastic for developing team building skills. The workshops allow kids to express their artistic talents and share them with their peers in a range of individual and group projects.

Case study:
Rudy on the Run, Barnardos

Rudy Kistler traveled to Cobar and Warren to work with Barnardos and help troubled kids in rural Australia through art.

"Rudy was an excellent choice of artist for the remote outback... his ability to teach troubled young people the skills they needed to do the painting themselves was invaluable.

It was impressive watching him draw ideas out of the young people, develop a major work and have the young people participate as a team in every aspect of the mural.

Learning the painting skills was identified as the best part about participating and being able to use those skills again. A sense of pride and feeling like a “real” artist was also talked about"

Rebecca Ingram , Barnardos

Pavement Art Workshops

pavementworkshops-albertparkprimary-1

Our Artists are available for a number of pavement art workshops. We can accommodate your needs and alter workshops to suit a variety of situations.

The Artists are able to give presentations on how different techniques of Pavement Art can be used to create 3D Illusions, they can assist the students to create group works, or they can hold competitions and give prizes for 'best artwork' and 'most creative' or 'most humorous'. The Artists aim is to make these workshops as creative and interesting as possible.

The artworks can work towards a similar theme. The Artist is also able to link the workshops to other subjects too such as literacy, mathematics, and history etc.

Over the years, Rudy has developed a passion for helping kids. His interactive artworks are always focused at engaging kids and allowing them to become part of his artworks. From concept development to teaching them about tone, colour, and perspective, Rudy assists kids as they create their own work.

Traveling through rural Australia, Rudy hopes to enlighten kids through art. ‘Rudy on the Run’ is a program of workshops that use chalk art as a platform to engage interest in other subjects too, e.g. literacy, mathematics, the environment, and Australian history etc.

Recycled Art

SG-Recycled-kids-1

Create art using recycled materials. Cut, bend and shape materials that are normally thrown in the rubbish bin to make something beautiful and unique. Think about what would happen to all this waste, will our own back yard one day become a landfill site?

As participants create flowers, masks, puppets, or jewellery etc. they will be reminded of where their own rubbish will end up unless they recycle or stop using plastic.

This is fun and educational for kids of all ages!

Puppet Labs

JB-puppets-artplay-1

This unique workshop gets participants to create their own mouse puppet. The puppets are made to look like mice, and used for a short 10 minute performance at the end of the workshop.

It is a very clever and interesting performance to watch, and is great fun for the participants!

Chalk Board Snake for Hire

Chalk-board-snake-1 chalkboardsnake-1

Our chalk board snake is used at festivals and events. It is approx 15 metres long and winds 2.4 metres across the ground. We custom-build snakes and other shapes to different sizes.

Once an area is filled, just wash away the chalk for more people to come and take part in art!
